Saša Poldan was born in Rijeka, Croatia in 1965. He has been building his career in judiciary since 1989 and working as an attorney-at-law in Rijeka since 1992. He perceives his profession as perfect.
He started doing amateur photography when he was twelve years old. He again became more intensely involved with photography in 2001, when he discovered enormous possibilities of digital photography. He has not entirely abandoned analogue photography, though, and still uses it on special occasions. His main preoccupations are landscape and macro photography, with occasional excursions to other types of photography. He likes to experiment with what is abstract in nature. He has lately been exploring aerial photography and, after shooting of Iceland, he is planning to explore other areas from the air.
He uses all types of formats, from the small to the large ones, and at one point, he was especially fond of panoramic format. All formats, procedures and methods he subordinates to photographic expression. He thinks of experiment and exploration as an inspiration. In his opinion, one should always try to keep up with professional standards in everything one does, even in amateur photography. The advantage of amateur photography is that amateurs have the possibility to deal with photography exactly as they want, regardless of demands of others, or the market, and this is where they are completely independent in terms of ideas and intentions. The disadvantage is that, usually because of their profession, they are unable to find enough time for exploration – independence is never easy.
He lives in Rijeka with his children: Matej (12), Petra (10) and Zara (2). He likes travelling and is a passionate admirer of fountain pens.
Kratka biografija vezana za fotografiju: Saša Poldan
Saša Poldan, rođen 1965 godine u Rijeci, Hrvatska. Od 1989. godine gradi karijeru u pravosuđu, a od 1992. godine je odvjetnik u Rijeci, Hrvatska. Svoju profesiju smatra savršenom.
Fotografijom se amaterski počeo baviti u 12. godini života. Novo intenzivno bavljenje fotografijom započinje 2001. godine kada otkriva neslućene mogućnosti digitalnog u fotografiji. Ipak ne napušta u potpunosti analognu fotografiju već je i danas koristi u pojedinim situacijama. Glavna su mu preokupacija pejsažna i makro fotografija, s povremenim izletima i u druge vrste fotografije. Voli eksperimentirati s apstraktnim u prirodi, a u posljednje vrijeme posebno istražuje zračnu fotografiju te nakon snimanja Islanda planira istražiti i nova prostranstva iz zraka.
Koristi sve formate, od malog do velikog, a u jednom periodu posebno je preferirao panoramski format. Sve formate, postupke i metode podređuje fotografskom izričaju.
Eksperiment i istraživanje smatra nadahnućem. Smatra da se u svemu treba nastojati držati profesionalnih standarda, pa i u amaterskoj fotografiji. Prednost je amaterske fotografije to što se amater fotografijom može baviti upravo onako kako to želi, bez obzira na zahtjeve trećih i tržišta i tu je potpuno neovisan u svojim idejama i namjerama. Nedostatak je u tome što, u pravilu, zbog svoje profesije, ne pronalazi onoliko vremena za istraživanja koliko bi želio - neovisnost nikada nije jednostavna.
Živi u Rijeci zajedno sa djecom Matejom (12), Petrom (10) i Zarom (2). Pasionirani je ljubitelj naliv pera i voli putovanja.
